Frequently Asked Questions, hints and tips

What restrictions are there on the use of the map images I create?

The Pan Government Agreement licence allows Ordnance Survey products and data that is derived from OS products to be displayed on Nature on the Map providing the appropriate acknowledgement is made. OS products designed at a scale of 1:10000 or larger may be used for Nature on the Map but must be watermarked with the Natural England logo.

Strictly speaking, Natural England is licenced to use OS products for internal business only - which includes the use of OS products in publications - and there is a requirement that Natural England advise third parties that Ordnance Survey products cannot be used for any other purpose.

Further use of the map image produced by Nature on the Map by a third party is permitted only where the third party has an appropriate OS licence for those OS products used to produce the map image.
