This map shows geological and geomorphological Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs). At small scales the SSSIs are shown as red stars, but as you zoom in closer you will see the site boundaries. At larger scales the SSSIs are also labelled with their names.

The map is divided into areas (broadly similar to county boundaries) for each of which a general geological description is given. Also indicated are a selection of places you can visit which show. in part, the diversity of England's geology.

You can use the Information Tool to link to pages about each SSSI, and each Natural Area.
